HIT – Hosting Israeli Travelers, is an international hosting network, where private people, lovers-of-Israel, open their hearts and homes and invite Israeli travelers visiting their countries to come and stay with them providing them a ‘home away from home’ experience…

I (Della) am the international secretary of HIT, and we have set up the HIT network in many different countries, aiming to give Israeli travelers the cheapest and most attractive travel possible and an unforgettable ‘home away from home’ experience!

HIT map

HIT international enables lovers-of-Israel to show their love and support to the Jewish people in the most practical way possible – through the simple act of hospitality. While the very large majority of our hosts are Bible-believing Christians, we also extend our invitation to Jewish people (whether Orthodox, Reformed, Conservative, Secular or Messianic) and to native-born Israelis living out of Israel, to come and take part in our network as hosting and service providers. Wherever you may live on the face of the globe, there will be some Israelis, travelling somewhere near you, so please, come and join us!!!

Categories include:

  • Private hosting – Category P Private people offering: bed: campervan or tenting space; separate self-contained facilities; Shared facilities; and “Basic facilities” (with mattresses on the floor or a fold-out sofa in the living room). Please note: The hosting is offered free of charge or small cover charge.
  • Commercial Discounted accommodation – Category C: such as camping grounds, backpackers / hostels, motels, B&B etc, offering discounted accommodation to HIT Members. Please note: We’re asking for the largest discount you can possibly offer, and a minimum of 10%.

If you can’t host people in your home overnight, but would like to interact with Israeli travelers, there are other ways for you meet them through HIT! Apart from hosting/accommodation providers you can also join us in one of the following categories:

  • Social Hosting (no overnight stay) – Category S: Social/meeting only:
    • such as inviting Israeli travelers passing through your area for a meal, refreshment stop (coffee / shower / travel suggestions);
    • take travelers out for a day trips – boating, hunting, fishing, 4×4 driving, mountain biking, horse riding, etc;
    • providing pick-up / drop-off to / from the airport or bus / train station OR

There is so much fake news and misinformation out there, much of it negative. I recommend the following sources in Israel to hear what is really happening there!

So, you believe that Yeshua is Messiah, and you want to share the love of God (the God of Israel) with the Jews, how?! Unfortunately, most Christians have no idea how to share their faith with the Jews and offer them a “Gentile Gospel” which is of no interest to the Jews.

The Keys to Jewish Evangelism

Share the Good News from the Tanakh – The biggest key which I (Della) learnt about sharing with Jewish people is to share the Good News from the Old Testament! I had no idea that it was different. I did not know that we could share the Gospel from the OT! But then I realised that Jesus did it! All this disciples did it! Can you?! I couldn’t!

The next key I learnt was to use Jewish terms. For example:

  • Call Jesus by His Hebrew name, “Yeshua”
  • Do not refer to Christ (from the Greek word Christos), but “Messiah” (from the Hebrew word Messiach)
  • Quote the OT Scriptures, not their NT fulfilment – there are 283 direct quotations from the Hebrew Bible (see www.kalvesmaki.com/LXX/NTChart.htm for a list)

  • Love them! Debate, but don’t argue. Jews love a good debate. It can be heated but no offence is taken. Prepare well by memorising the prophecies. Do not be offended if they appear to not listen. They hear every word you say!

Ask them about the Messianic Prophecies! 80% of Jewish people these days are “Secular Jews” – they are Jews by blood but not by religion though they observe the feasts to some degree. Many of them do not believe in their God, however, if you ask them, even secular Jews, “When will it be good?” and they will invariably say, “When Messiah comes!” They don’t believe in their God, but they are all waiting for His Messiah!
This is your opportunity to say, “Please tell me about your long-awaited Messiah. Where will He be born? What will He look like? What will He do? How will you know?” They will realise that you know more about the OT prophecies that they do! Challenge them to look up all their prophecies!

Thank you for being interested to share the Good News with our Jewish brothers and sisters. May God (the God of Israel) bless you for blessing His Covenant people!
